      Hi,

      I went out shopping early this morning so I'd be back home ready to accept the new Yamaha leyboard when it arrived. Back home the keyboard had been delivered but not to inside the porch but left propped up on the front decking; good job it wasn't raining.

      Assembly was easy and I'm delighted to be at last trying it out; it's so much easier to play than my violins and tunes can be made up in seconds without any prior experience of using a keyboard; it's fitted into the front room perfectly allowing instant access and only one power cable so far connecting it.

      I need to spend a lot of time getting used to the controls and there are lots of them. Space is rather tight in the studio with my ever increasing gear so I'm considering moving all the gear into the front master bedroom which has been fully remodeled and has double the space of the current studio. I'm going to be very busy indeed in 2026.

      Kind regards, Col.

        Hi,

        This new Yamaha keyboard is amazing; I've set it up in the front room where I can play it at will. It only arrived on Monday and already I can play the opening notes of two songs; not a lot but rapid compared to playing the violin where it took forever just to play three notes.

        This morning I decided to get to know the keyboard better so started playing around with the controls; one control I simply love is the 222 UP Soft Synth 80s GT Pop. This is simply wonderful to play around with making up my own tunes; I can use both hands fully as they hit keys at random producing lovely music; it's so incredibly easy.

        To the right of the keyboard I have a 50" TV and am using YouTube tutorial videos playing these at half speed whilst I try to follow; sharps and flats are easy by just pressing the correct key; they are always in tune.

        It's going to take a lot of time finding out what all the controls do but it's sure caught my interest and has been money well spent. Sitting near the window looking out it was white over with frost; I was cosy and enjoying myself; I'll also carry on practicing playing my violins; hobbies keep people young;

        I was 74 when I first started playing a violin now at 78 I'm learning to play a keyboard; there are so many interesting hobbies to choose from so why be bored.

        Kind regards, Col.
