Just got back from an evening walk and have heard the marsh Frogs mating..there must be thousands of them, the noise is so loud. Its an amazing thing to hear at this time of year. These creatures are not native to this country but were introduced to the Romney Marsh area in Kent some years back, there are now several large colonies of these fantastic vocal frogs. has anyone else got them nearby [IMG]

No we haven't got them and don't want them either if they make such a racket.

We are being driven mad at the moment by an ariel display team, practising over our village.

I could do with a ground to air missile.Anyone got one going spare?

I don't think marsh frogs have spread very far from the kent area, at least, hardly any outside the south east, much to my disappointment.

Not come across them myself, I just get the ordinary ones, but then I'm not really near Romney Marsh.
They mate a bit late, dont they mate. :D

We are about 30 miles from Romney Marsh, apparently the first marsh frogs came to the south east in 1935 and within a few years they had spread into Sussex. They do mate later than our own native frog. [IMG]
