At last i decided to purchase a HDML Cable to connect from my TV to my Laptop,..oh what fun watching all my videos on the big screen :hapydancsmil:,..at my age its new to do this though my mind is boggled at times with the additional settings.

Also purchased Laptop no 3 a Lenovo,..decided not to fight with Microsoft by not using anything other than Microsoft Verified Software,..using the 'S' Mode only on this new Laptop,..however i am not doing likewise with my other Laptops which are Microsoft Edge free so am able to make up my own mind as to what i use,..will i go mad looking for only Microsoft Verified Software?,..methinks its possible :wallbanging:

        Hello @glengarry23

Regarding the Windows 10 'S' Mode, you can turn it off so you can use any software you wish, however, once you turn it off it can not be re-enabled.

Check this Article on the Microsoft Website:

Switching out of S mode in Windows 10

        I hope this helps.

        Kevin

          Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the reply,..while i am aware i can switch from S Mode i decided that on the new Laptop i would see could i cope with just the S Mode,..so far it appears there are very few programs that are available to suit my demands with the use of S Mode,..all Verified Microsoft programs available that are Free are not up to scratch,..however there are good enough programs available that are,..Microsoft to pay for,..i never purchase programs as there are enough fantastic free ones about most are open source,..these i go for,..time will tell if i can manage under the S Mode as it appears to be a Mode to encourage purchasing Microsoft Products,..thanks again for the reply.

          Philip

@Kevin Cowans thank you! I just started using MS365 and am irritated that it won't let me select any default browsers other than edge or explorer!

I'll make a note to follow your suggestion :)

I talk to me satnav and the usual comment from me is "No". If I'm going somewhere new I always look it up on a map first and I usually only set the satnav so that it can tell me if there is any trouble on the road. Otherwise, I have the route in my head anyway. It quite often tries to take me a way I don't want to go as it has different parameters than I do. :heehee:

I also have voice control for a lot of the things on the car but have turned it off - as I have with my TV as well. :old:
