Does anyone have any miracle cures for mould on rubber, ie, the sealing ring in a washing machine? Mine is disgusting. I've bought mould remover, used cream cleanser, Bicarb of Soda paste ... all to no avail.

Any thoughts gratefully accepted and will put to the trial (assuming they are within reason :D ).

    Thank you.

LOL.Thank God I read the rest of your post.I thought you had gone kinky on us,when you said rubber, the mind started boggling.

Have you tried a solution of bleach.I usually do mine with a bit of thick bleach like Domestos...now I'm advertising, hope that's ok...

Put some on a damp cloth and with a bit of elbow work you may get quite a bit off,but if it has been on there for too long, then the rubber will probably be stained, but you should be able to get a lot off.You might want to leave the bleach on the rubber for a few minutes,to let it work, before cleaning off.

Try doing it in a well ventilated place, and try not to breath in the fumes.
I leave my door slightly ajar,so that it is not a sealed unit.

    Good Luck

Hi, Kandy ... kinky in the washing machine, huh? I'd be clean at least! :D :D :D

The worse part of it is up the sides (front loader) and I've attempted to clean it every few months. I was just taking a load out and I thought "yuk"! You wouldn't think here I'd have such a problem, would you? Maybe if I mix up some bleach in the cream cleaner or Bicarb paste it would stick to the sides to let it soak.

My machine is in the kitchen, between a window and the back door so plenty of ventilation since I always keep them open when I haven't got the A/C on.

    Thanks for your idea.

    Hi LOL.
I wouldn't go as far as saying mixing these things together. There is usually a warning on the bottles against doing just that. That is why I said use thick bleach. Also try using an old toothbrush to put it on with{After pouring some in a container first}at least with a toothbrush you can get into the more difficult places.

I think these two pieces of advice deserve more stars, what do you think?

Well, as we are only starry-eyed now, I could give you a big hug and kiss ... but then you'd really think I was kinky! :D :D But then again, it's normal here! [IMG]

Not at all LOL.I do let my friends give me hugs and kisses, but it took a long time before I would let them.
Being nearly the youngest of a big family{10}my parents weren't the huggy kissy type.

Glad I could be of help, after all that is what friends are for
