How wonderful that they all smiled for the camera! :doggieshmooze: :doggieshmooze: :doggieshmooze:
It's only when I see him against other dogs that I'm reminded how big he is :heehee:

The dog on the left is a Belgium Shepherd (female), the dog in the centre is a German Shepherd (male).

Sorry, didn't make myself clear - his two new friends aren't two new housemates, but belong to a neighbour and we were socialising them.
The GSD was rescued from a flat last year where he'd spent the first 9 months of his life shut up in it; so, he has a few issues when being introduced to other dogs: hence doggy playtime today. Oz was brilliant with him though, despite a fair amount of provocation!
We're going to meet up again tomorrow morning for some more canine fun.
The other dogs owner brought Oz a big fat sausage to reward him for his calmness and patience today.

Oh, and to clarify, all the dogs are neutered

I wasn't thinking tiny paws with Oz's, i was thinking of the Belgium Shephard as she's female and Oz as the father ;)

                This then makes it harder

I've always known he is good with puppies (and children and "special" people) he has a way about him :wub2:
But no, there won't be any new housemates for him. Well, I say that but #2 son is thinking of rewarding himself after his degree with a dog :rolleyespink:

We had a second outing with his new friends today and, just as I expected, the GSD was less stressed; he only "reacted" a couple of times today instead of dozens like yesterday. Ozzy remained calm, giving no sudden movements or any signs to spark off the GSD - I am so so proud of him!
The GSD's owner was so grateful to Ozzy and how he behaved yesterday that he brought round a doggy salami for him as a special reward last night. Ozzy guarded it like his life depended on it (but, non aggressive). He did that *all* night  He only ate it today after our outing :heehee:

Another outing tomorrow with the same plan: to teach the GSC doggy manners and how to be calmer around other dogs. :fingers crossed:

                      Lovely photos, @"M" .

I'm wondering about the Belgian shepherd, and which of the 4 types she is? She looks too heavy to be a malinois, with the wrong coat colour, and of course the wrong coat-length for a groenendaal or a tervuren, and wrong coat type for a lakenois.... Could she be a cross between a Belgian malinois and a GSD? Not wanting to query her parentage, or anything, but it would also affect her personality. (Each Belgian shepherd type have distinct behavioural charactistics....)

Very interesting question Sian! And, I don't have the answer :heehee:

Unlike her " step-brother" (the GSD) the one I believe to be a Belgian Shepherd is as calm as you like, not particularly vocal, is happy to do anything asked of her without fuss or bother.

It's quite possible that she might be a mix, but the only way I'll know for sure is to ask her owner.

:th scifD36: I'll put him in the hot seat tomorrow and interrogate him :th scifD36: :paladin: :heehee:

Never realised there were four different types

@Sian in Belgium - I asked today, and the (half) answer is, you are quite correct that she is a Belgian x GSD
The other half of the question remains unanswered until I can see the owners other half :heehee:
