I planted a pear tree about 4 years ago. the first year ,nice green leaves ,no flower. second year nice green leaves, very little flower.third year nice green leaves then it was infected by( I do not know what). the leaves started to drop off. i attempted to spray the tree with a bug killer but to no avail..I stripped the whole tree of leaves and burnt them. i used a spray of diluted washing up liquid and soaked the whole tree from top to bottom then used a spray of bug killer. This year the tree is Amazing :yess:. it has a mass of flowers in clusters of @ 15 flower buds in each cluster. I understand i require a second tree for pollination to fruit but i am just amazed at the amount of blossom on the tree:thumbsup:.when i had the problem last year my neighbour said "Dig it out",i ignored his advice and persevered ,it has paid off, you never know i could get some pears this year :dunno:.

    Hi well done you
Patience does pay , if somone has a pear close by that should do the trick with polination, all trees take a while to settle in before they get going

Conference is partly self fertile so you should get some decent fruit. Tomorrow, assuming it is in full fower, give it a good whack. this should help it .
