Its a bulb of some sort ... that's all I know. I think it looks like the flower spathe is going to be like an Aroid, but I'm not overly sure.

    It looks interesting.:blue thumb:

Other than that, all I can say is, its times like this when you wished you had kept that nasty looking label.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Don't most aroids root from the top of the tuber?

It kinda looks like one of the Amaryllidaceae family from what I can see of the bulb, but the foliage looks wrong. Did you have any Galtonia bulbs, possibly G.viridiflora?

      Good point.

Yes, the bulb looks just like that.

Don't think so. Growing some from seed though :)

      Crinum?

I've never grown Crinum so I can't say.

The growth habit is rather like Scadoxus, but that has glossy foliage and the blooms emerge first.

HTUK suggested Eucomis. I have an E. pole- evansii that I haven't seen for a while! so I reckon it is that with the label missing if you agree?

The only other one I thought of was a Renga lily - Arthropodium or something like that (spelling)

Hmmm, it's looking rather like my two lots of Crinums which Sis sent me from Florida but as they are new to me I can't say for sure.
