    Hello all.

I have collected a lot of New England Aster seed heads a few weeks ago. Now I've come to go through them I'm not convinced there's viable seed. They just don't look plump enough, they look really thin and shriveled.

They did go on flowering really late and I'm thinking they maybe just didn't get pollinated.

Unsure. Just wondered what other people's thoughts were. I've put some pictures on under magnification.

They don't look that bad to me. As you have plenty I would sow some now with grit on top and leave them outside in a sheltered place and some more in the warm in April. What have you got to lose?

I could sow some and see what happens. I was going to give to some friends but that I'm not sure about
