@wiseowl - Sainsburys have the Kenwood mixer on a special offer at the moment - around £100 off if it helps?

If I was younger had more time to do cooking and baking and had £400 to spend then I would certainly go for the Kitchen Aid as just by looking at it in the programmes on the Great British Bake Off last year then it just screamed quality:snork:

Having said that £400 to me at my time of life seems an awful lot of money and for me I couldn't be sure of getting my money's worth out of it unless I used it every single day up until I popped me clogs:biggrin:

One good thing Woo might be to look at customer reviews on the various shops that sell them Ie John Lewis,Currys etc of both of them and see what the reviewers think and take it from there.

      Good Luck:)

Good afternoon @Kandy and @fat controller and thank you,I have looked at all the reviews 100's of them,I have learnt that although Kenwood used to be "Made in England, they have now been purchased by (De'Longhi in Italy and that Kitchen Aid are in the USA,There are so many models of each it is a veritable mine field,I will venture to visit Curry's in the morning and have a hands on look at them, the only thing ,they all have different amount of Watts from 500 to 1000,and some have 6/8/10 speeds ,Kitchen Aid are made of steel and Kenwood Kmix's are made of aliminium,at this moment in time I have narrowed it down to two models(but that could change):heehee:

          I never thought I would be getting excited about a new mixe:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The KitchenAid ones do look to be the dogs dangly bits. I am hoping I will be able to afford to get Mrs C one next year.

Good afternoon my friends after much deliberation and studying and actually handling all the food mixers in Curry's I made my decision on which one,I could list all the reasons but didn't want to bore anyone:heehee:

My new baking area down the other end of the kitchen(well away from the main area)

I like the shelf with all the attachments for easy to hand use, i see the hand whisks is on the top shelf

Now you'll have to look for another rolling pin as that one dosn't have a motor to make it work

                                Yum!

Now that silicone mat with the markings on it - I have been tempted to buy one but can't figure out how you can cut along the lines for circles when the dough is not transparent?
