As i stated elsewhere im going to building a 7mtr x 3mtr shed/greenhouse combination this year. Which will help with the housing of 4 1mtr x 1.7mtr solar panels.

would it be an issue with the roof being a solid thermal structure with felt on top or is it best to have a clear roof. I may be able to make half the roof clear. But the end where the greenhouse is, is better for solar production.

    Thanks

I'd say you really need a clear roof.

Are you able to to keep them all mounted at one end or are you having spaces between them? The spacing bit might allow for lighting the sunlight to shine in at different angles.

No they have to be mounted pretty close together as not much cable between them

So they're hooked up in series?

Sounds interesting. I use solar panels to run fans during the day and solar panels feeding batteries for lighting and fans at night. :)

Those are massive! I'm green with envy.

Mine are just little guys putting out between 25 and 50 watts each.

How do you consume the power you collect?

Aha. I went back and interpreted your dimensions (I think in feet and inches) and I realize my questions were silly, given the square footage.

If you're putting a roof of solar panels on the greenhouse, it will be perhaps good for shade loving plants?

They wont cover the full roof of the greenhouse, maybe half…..but its easier to build a full solid roof, rather than a half and half roof. But will look into a half and half and see what i can come up with.

I may be able to have at least 1.8mtrs of clear roof.
