Thank you Jack, they certainly get you up close, I'm not after super pro shots atm , I have lots to learn with this camera and they will give me a start, in the future if i feel there letting me down I will dig deep and buy a appropriate lens,

My next main buy is going to be a distance lens, the 18-55 is not really suitable for my needs, my needs are really close up or 50ft plus,

Ive been looking at water droplet photography and it appeals to me, ive seen some cracking shots and its something you can do indoors/outdoors,

I'm probably trying to run before I can walk but that's just me :heehee:, looking forward to learning more and no doubt i will have fun along the way.

Water droplet pix, require a set up, A friend and I have got one
It is a stand with a small reservoir on top, and you can set the drip time
The drip passes through a sensor that triggers your camera, All done by timing

This is how people get a picture of a Kingfisher catching a fish
They put a glass tank with minnows in just below the surface, with the trigger set up
as the bird passes it triggers the camera and flash and if you are very very lucky you
get a pic of a Kingfisher with a fish in its beak

If I buy a camera, I would test if the red is red, orange is orange and if details show up in red colour. I have found the colours in my samsung to be dodgy.

@martin-f I have the feeling that the flowers have been photoshopped in. Once upon a time, I was able to do that. Long time ago now.

Hi alp, if you use the vivid colour setting on your camera it will give you some lovely colours not really photo shopped imho, just enhances the shot.

Hi today I found time to have a go at water drop reflection's,

The pictures below was taken with the 18-55 lens with the 12mm extension tube, looking at the pictures I need to step up to the bigger ones and get closer in, very pleased for my first attempt I'm looking forward to having another go,

All I've done to the pictures is crop them.

                        Thank you alp,

I'm quite sure I need to step up to the 20mm/36mm tube, I need to get a clear picture of the flower inside the droplet, this is what I get zooming in to the last picture,
                        DSC_0048.JPG

As you can see the flower is blurred, I'm guessing I need more zoom, I will have another go tomorrow,

BTW there the best of around 40 or more shots.

Absolutely stunning @martin-f. A brilliant first attempt and I bet you was grinning from ear to ear after reviewing your results and thinking...... Ah ha, now if I change this setting and......

I probably could do with a small tripod my hands are not as steady as they used to be, I will have a look what's available, don't hold your breath for my next attempt its beginner's luck for Shure :heehee:, all the best my friend :blue thumb:.
