Went into Barclays ..they gave me a pen..nice for the car I thought. I put it in the hole for the cigarette lighter...It blew the fuse and the end off my new pen.
    I am having a carer soon. :)

Was there a logical reason for poking it electrical sockets?

(Fun and curiosity count as logical reasons to me)

Have you noticed that if you open the CD drive on your PC it holds a coffee cup very nicely:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Typical bank freebie, you don`t get `owt for nowt, cost you a fuse at least.

You can use cigarette lighter hole thingy for so many things nowadays, Sat Nav, Phone charger etc, but I would still expect a lighter.

They're good free (my favourite price) pens. I haven't bought any for the house or daughter to use at school since Barclays put out boxes of them as freebies for customers.

ha ha the hole/ connector/socket is for anything (I don't smoke so no lighter just the hole ) and the copper contact looked miles away from the (neutral) side..but on closer inspection they are very close so it is quite easy to create a full short. The socket is located in a very handy place next to the only cup holder on the central console. Without the plastic cove on it was tempting to become a pen holder. Barclays pen with no top = metal point =blown fuse.. hmm.
DaveW, the dvd cup holder is a excellent idea ..I mean you can still have the radio on
        fool proof.

        should have gone to
