How come? Think how many times the typical car battery gets recharged. Every time you crank the engine over it takes a massive whack out of the battery, then within about 20 minutes that charge has been replaced. If you use the car twice per day every day, if the car battery could only be charged 300 times, you'd be buying a new battery every 6 months, when in reality they last maybe 5 years or more.

Is the battery built into the TV @Zigs?

There might be a way to make sure the replacement has a longer service life....

I've just had a look at that. Looks good. I could only see live streams though, does it now do TV on demand like iPlayer and such? If its live streaming, you'll still need a telly license wont you?

Slight delay, so not live and no need for tv licence.

Not as easy as all that, i'm off grid, so the telly keeps me entertained while the laptop is charging, and vice versa.

If I were to watch telly on the laptop then I wouldn't be chatting on here as the battery would need charging.

Isn't there an socket on the TV for an external 12V voltage supply Zigs?
If there is you could buy a gelcell 12V battery and charger which may work out cheaper than replacing the internal battery.

Get yourself down to the nearest Rediffussion* shop, they used to have a telly on all day/night so you can watch it through the window:
