I tend to buy on the Net fairly often and usually an item tends to take 3 to 5 days to get to me [if I'm lucky]. Yesterday I bought an extendable Laptop holder for use in the Observatory at a reasonable price of less than £19. I placed the order at 1502, got back a reply to say the order was being processed at 1504, and UPS turned up at my door with the item at 1030am this morning!!.........not bad, not bad at all.:love30::snorky:

They are definitely getting better at delivering quickly - during the summer, I ordered some stuff from Amazon on a Saturday morning and it was delivered the same day!

This is where the Post Office has to catch up with tracking software and courier services to equal the competition. I know on the privatisation the Government allowed a lot of cherry picking of the best bits and is slowly trying to cut down the number of Post Offices and sub-Post Offices which is putting what's left at an advantage. But they increased the cost of mailing etc so they've got to invest in new viable services while improving the old.

Ordered some timber from local builders merchant at 1145 and it was delivered by 1300hrs. Admittedly I live less than a mile away.
