Not sure about this one

    The stipe is hollow rather than solid as a Blewit would be.

    spore print is creamy beige.

    Growing on Oak chippings.

        Cheers Dai, thats a usefull site.

        I'm tending towards the Wood Blewit, but the pics are so variable i'd like a microscopic back up with the spore print.

        Trouble is, some badger has hidden my book with the microscope pics:DOH:

          Could the one you have be a fungal "sport"? IE a new, natural, variety?

          But surely, even fungi have to evolve someway? Why not post the pics and description on ispot? It is an Open University website and no threat to Gardeners Corner.:dbgrtmb:

          it is unlikely to be a sport, however posting it to iSpot is a good idea and it's a great website for getting ID's on anything:thumbsup:
