    Hello,

We were given a couple of olive trees 2 years ago which looked like this:

I thought the trees had died so they were moved to the end of the garden and forgotten about. I've recently found them and to my suprise there are new branches/leaves on both trees, but they are growing from the bottom of the tree rather than the top. Should I cut the top off as there aren't any leaves on it? Will it be possible to shape it again or will they be olive bushes rather than shaped olive trees?

Olives are bushes to get back to what you had originally involves some topiary , remove all growth from the trunk until you have a bushy shape on top again and then prune that to a ball, i would remove any bare wood above the leafy part,
