    Hi all,

Our lawn is very patchy and I've seen lots of different options to kill the weeds and to reseed the grass lawn.

We have 2 dogs which obviously doesn't help the situation but I'm determined to make the lawn look good if just for a short time.

What's the best weed killer and grass seeding options or is there something that does both at the same time and is there anything that's dog wee resistant or proof?

My wife doesn't want artificial grass so what can people suggest besides that please

    Kind regards mark

What sort of weeds do you have and what size lawn ? Some you could just dig out with a trowel, others you could perhaps paint individually with a weedkiller.
When you get around to reseeding, have you considered including something like Daisies or Clover to break up the green ?
I'm sure someone with knowledge will be able to suggest the best way to tackle it :)

Most lawn weed killers also contain an inhibitor to prevent seed germination for a period of up to six weeks so you won’t find an effective combination product. After applying your chosen weed killer, wait until the time period indicated in the instructions for your weed killer before sowing any grass seed.

I use a combination weed and feed product, Miracle Gro 4 in 1, towards the end of March when the lawn is actively growing, then sow any seed six weeks later. Johnsons lawn seed is good, there’s a range available to choose from, I use the Quick Lawn one detailed here, there’s also one for dog patches:
