Hi,wondered if anyone could give me some advise? My hubby plans on having a garage built in january the problem is I have a pear tree in the way of the proposed garage, its loaded with fruit at the moment should I move it now or not. I thought that january might be a bit too cold to move I would hate to lose it.Its been in its spot for about four years [IMG]

I would wait til after the leaves fall and it goes dormant for winter and then take as much of rootball as possible, so that disturbance is kept to the minimum. Thats usually about November - make sure where your going to put it is well prepared - and I would stake it with a diagonal stake for the first year or two as well as keeping it well watered for the same period til it re-establishes.

I think I would prefer the pear tree to the garage though :D
