Pink perennial shrub

    Sorry, do not have a photo, however, my plant grows to about 3-4 feet high, pink flowers (lots,about 2in diameter)Starts early summer, now has fluffy seed heads, I thought it might be a Ceanothus perle rose, tried to look through some photo's but still not too sure,anyone got any ideas?:please:

    No, it dies back in the winter. The stems are very solid,the width of a thin pencil.

    Lots of tiny flowers that make up a head. Can't take photo, silly me cut down all plant and has now gone to compost heap in the sky. Will try to take photo of seed head.

    Your thread made me go and have a look at our shrub of Ceanothus Perle Rose.I had never noticed/looked at the seed heads before.
    They are not fluffy. At least I will know for the future!

    If your plant has been cut right back then I wonder if it is a perennial plant rather than a shrub.

    Might it be Vernonia???
    This has fluffy seed heads.

    Thanks, I now have made further checks with your link. I have found it is called Eupatorium purpureum or Joe Pye Weed. Thanks for your help.
