I was given this plant by one of the kiddies I look after and have no idea what it is. It's very easy to keep and if/when leaves fall off, if left on the soil they automatically sprout (hence the 3 in one pot).

Does anyone know what it is? Also, would it survive outdoors?

Crassula ovata - commonly known as the Jade plant or money plant (and many other names). It won't survive frosts.

It can grow quite quickly if repotted regularly. We have one 5' high with a diameter of 4'.

thank you! Shame it wouldn't survive outdoors as it would be nice to to go in a small patch I'm trying to fill in my front garden

They like it outdoors through the summer; my mother in law has one that I cut back last year after it looked rather ill, I gave it a feed and she took it back home and kept it in a sunny spot on her deck. After a few weeks we visited and when I saw it I was amazed, it looked stunning, loads of new growth and large dark green leaves; I saw it again last week and its still in equally good health. She has it in a largish pot and keeps in inside during the autumn, winter and early spring and moves it out during the late spring and summer..:)
