Plant ID Please

    Saw these at the allotment today....the foliage almost looks a Cosmos type of plant?

    They look like poppies to me, but if the foliage looks like crocosmia then I'm almost certainly wrong.

      arrr...you might be right, going to the allotment tomorrow but I never seen the plot holder to ask them as I can only get there after work or weekends. :gaah:

        Also if you notice the steams where the flower has faded?

          I will say that these have been flowering for the last 3 weeks (maybe more) or so...which is good:)

            I have either California or Welsh poppies in my garden (never quite sure of the difference, I think one deeper orange than the other). They do seem to have a fairly long flowering period for poppies. Individual flowers don't last long, but they produce lots of them in succession.

            Eschscholzia californica (Californian poppy) as already stated. It self seeds like boogery and can be somewhat invasive.
