I don't label anything in the garden . I have a schematic garden layout on Excel and location and plants are identified there . Seems to work OK. I have found that labels and sniffy Cocker Spaniels don't mix :wagtail:

Gawd, and there's me sitting in the Arbour every year in Spring with a mug of Tea and Jenny the Cat:cat-kittyandsmiley: looking at the thousands of shoots pushing out of the borders, pots and containers and musing "What's that?, What's that:scratch::heehee:?".......you'd think I'd would know by now:doh:

Having used various kinds of labelling over the years, I now use a Brother label printer and stick the print-out to the plastic label.

This way the labels can used over and over again.

:ideaIPB: Cor Mike, I used to use one of those a long time ago, and tried introducing it at the nursery where I worked. It was great, except that it took a long time to muck about making the stick ons. It was useful initially for the stock beds too.The big problem was that the labels were so posh, the customers used to pinch them, and in the end I just went back to pencils...... I wonder where I put the printer .....

I don't often label my plants, mainly seeds that I start off. Then I use a pencil.
I'm not very organised as a gardener and if anyone asks what a plant is, I say "Oh, no idea". I have a lot of those in the garden.:heehee:

Might I ask? Apart from sticking a label beside a plant. Do you take any other measure at recording your plant, where it is etc? For instance. I often number plant pots and keep a database. I could relate such a wonderful experience here, that include...wildlife in the garden, if anyone is interested.

Hi Mike...I was only joking mate with the above comment

I never stick labels any where near my plants as i'm a tidy freak ;) but what you've mentioned do a discussion on it, there's no harm in it and you may get replies
