Hi, I'm new and I am trying to identify this plant which has started growing at the back of my garden, I think it's a Verbena, it's about 1m high at the moment, I just need to know the name so I check if it's poisonous to cats !:(

    Many thanks

Hello Digbert22 and welcome to GC.

It does indeed look like Verbena bonariensis which can grow to 1.5 meters tall.

I grow it in pots and in various locations around the garden and have three cats!

    Thanks Victoria

I thought it was a Verbena, my new cat has been exploring the garden a day or two ago and he was chewing on it's leaves, now he has a blister, think he is just accident prone lolk-l have already survived a recent spikey aloe vera incident so not having much luck with cats and plants!
I'll head back to the vets...........................must be something else!

Thanks again for the prompt response!

    Cherie
