We moved to our house 30 years ago to a garden with 7 very old plum
trees in it . We are now down to 3 including the one that blew down and has regrown from the stump. They produce dark purple small plums approx
40mm x 28mm my mother thought they where Czars but they tend to be more rounded, can anybody help. The plums are falling early this year and
tend to be very sweet. Our garden was part of a kitchen garden for a
Manor house demolished in the 30s so the trees might be 100 years old.
    Regards
    Arado

[IMG] arado.. If the trees are that old it could quite easily be a damson tree looking at the fruits on yours.. We have 3 old Meryweather damsons up at the farm ( about 80yrs) & they look so like your photo.. If yours is one, they are actually a popular old cross between a plum & a damson, hence the odd size & shape.. Hope that is some help.. :)

        Welcome to Gardeners Corner.

They are the same as the inherited one in our garden, very nice & as you say, dropping already.
