    This has finally flowered after several years and accidents. Any ideas as to which orchid it is.

              Thank you for that. After waiting for this one to flower for several years I've just noticed another one growing in the long grass at the side of a flower bed.
              Interestingly it is supposed to like well-drained calcareous soils but a few yards away I have both a rhodendron and a camellia happily growing.

                  Has this sprung up naturally? I doubt that I would have noticed it to keep an eye on it for several years if it hadn't bloomed! I'm muppet enough to have weeded it out.
