In a few days we will take down the Christmas tree.

My tree kept going for almost a decade and it is about time to throw it away, because it has been subject to mishandling by active children.

The base holding the tree is composed of three green metal legs and three screw loops that hold in place the trunk of the tree.

The base is in good condition, so I decided to "recycle it" to keep a sunshade in the summer. Do you think it's a good idea?

If it's like mine I don't think it will be strong enough.
