As we are all adults here, has anyone tried Energy Drinks as pick me ups and what do you think? The Pharmacist gave me Supradyn tablets. As I can't exercise properly any more, I feel like I need something.

    Tanks for any comments.suggestions.

I've only tried red bull once, it tastes alright but to me its a load of old rubbish, much the same as people seem to get something out or sugar, or coffee or chocolate.

To me they are all placebos if you expect it to do something to you it will.

Try an extra shot of rum in your cola @Victoria . (The Zero version of cola is probably healthier than Red Bull.)

@Victoria If you lack energy, try to eat a bowl of green salad with the usual tomato, cucumber, pepper etc.
I have this as breakfast and it really works. Over winter I have lots of watercress, goat jogurt and eggs. I feel much more energetic.
Your body gets a lot healthy stuff.

I used to quite like Locozade but that was decades ago. I had the impression that most "energy drinks" were loaded with sugar - could be wrong tho.

Energy is often in the mind, I have lots of energy when doing what I like to do, but anything I find boring just drains my energy.
Unless to have a medical condition that causes lack of energy I think its in the mind.

Hubby is currently drinking Lucozade as he like the taste - his taste buds have gone funny at the moment. But there are the sports drinks, some of which are isotonic. But I read that a glass of milk is better. And that's what I'm drinking now.

Can't stand Red Bull and similar, don't like Lucozade either.
Makes me smile that they remove caffeine from coffee and tell you it's better for you; they then add the caffeine to energy drinks and tell you to drink these to wake yourself and have more energy.

My gran always had a bottle of Lucozade back in the 60s, they have reinvented it now as a sports drink, so made it trendy again.

Drinks with extra sugar and caffeine can give a temporary false sense of energy but they aren’t good for you. Caffeine can be dehydrating and make your heart race too.

Keeping hydrated, taking multivitamins and having a diet of fresh and whole foods would seem to be a better approach. Of course there can be medical reasons for fatigue too.

If you can’t exercise or aren’t very mobile - there are plenty of chair exercises and yoga you could try - and even better in the fresh air.
