Hi guys, any ideas what this is? Dug it up from a rubble area in my garden, I'm assuming it's not a weed becaue I've never found any more of them.

Googled red leaved plant but none seem to look much like it.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like it could be a coloured Dogwood (Cornus). I've got some that look rather like that ('black' dogwood)and will post some pics when I get back in about an hour.

Was it shrubby or herbaceous? It has the look of Clematis recta purpurea if it was herbaceous.

I have a plant that looks very similar.
If it's the same then it will lage small yellow flowers, its perennial and it's very rampant.
I've had to put it into a pot to stop it taking over. It took a couple of years to irradicate it from the bed.

Yes, it's one of the lysimachia tribe but I forget which one. I like it and it's easy to dig out if it gets too much. Wilts badly in the midday sun, whatever that is.

That looks like it thank you. No idea where it's come from though, doesn't appear to be growing in any neighbours gardens either. :dunno:

Nevermind, a pretty plant. At least it's not another weed!
