Sealed unit 13amp plugs

Most things come with a non changeable plug these days. I guess it's to stop folk electrocuting themselves

However, it means a lot of recyclable metals are going to landfill

There are a few different types but here's how to dissasemble the rubberised coated ones




Make a slit with a sharp knife, then lever with a screwdriver to make it easier to slice across.

Once you've cut it across, lever around to free the inner casing.



There are a couple of clips that allow you to open the inner casing.



Once that's done use 2 pairs of pliers to lever and separate the copper and brass

I'd be inclined to just chuck it in the recycle bin.
The powers that be can do whatever they like with it then.
