Wooo hooo! Looking forward to it arriving here. I have a stack of stuff to put in, including heirloom tomatoes, various chilis and a load of Suttons Seeds in date and suitable for late sowing.

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask. I have germinated some Ipomaea alba that someone kindly put in, and am wondering if whoever it was has any tips on growing them on? The info on the web is conflicting and I thought advice from someone who has grown them successfully would be good
          :please: :)

It's still on its way to my place via the Royal SnailMail and hopefully will be here tomorrow. As I'm out tomorrow morning mugging shoppers on behalf of a local charity, I've left a message for the postman to leave it with a neighbour. I know how anxious we are to get on mitts on lovely seeds so I'll get it straight off the next working day as I'm at home Mon & Tues.

The parcel is safely in front of me as I type. I'll get it in the post to @Aridae on Monday.

Tis done. Just put it in 1st class so it should be with Aridae soon. Beware tho that it won't fit through your letterbox, so expect the postie to knock.

Hi philomel:) Sorry not to have replied before! They like heat (like most Ipomaea) and drink quite a lot once they've got a few leaves. I've never tried growing them in ordinary soil, so either in pots in fairly rich compost or in well-improved soil. Best grown on or near a terrace where you sit in the evenings as they're night-opening and very scented. If your forecast is like ours for tomorrow, keep them in until it warms up again:yikes: Good luck!

Thanks noisette47. The horrid cool, wet windy weather has arrived. I had already put two seedlings in a half barrel by my sitting out area, so they must take their chance. The others are still in the greenhouse, so I'll wait for more heat before putting them out, thanks.
Have they been perennial with you, or should I just treat them as annuals?

Thanks again for those and your other goodies :dbgrtmb: :)

Bonjour:) I will be sooo glad when this howling wind goes away!
I've never managed to keep I. alba from one year to the next, so I think they must be true annuals. They set loads of seed, though :dbgrtmb:
