A great way to increase the plants in your garden by swapping seeds with other members.

    How it works:

A parcel is put together, containing little bags of seeds you dont think you'll ever use, this parcel is sent to one person after
another from a list on this topic and as each member receives it they take out what seeds they want to use and add some more seeds,
hence the "swap", then they post it onto the next member on the list. This way, the package offers a great choice of varieties,
    covering flowers, veg and herbs.

    What it costs:

The last parcel I sent out was quite big (over 30 different seed types) and cost if memory serves me £2.34

    Guidelines:

Here are the guidelines from the last seed swap topic, I have added in No 8 below and suggest we use this set...feel free to discuss.

1- maximum hold time before passing on parcel, unless previously arranged is 3 days (ties in with No3)
2- message person after you on the list before sending parcel and to the thread so we're all kept in the loop
3- if no response to a message, move on the next person, after 3 days (Works with No1)
4- contact details held by Steve for everyone, as an emergency(name, email, address and a phone if you wish)
    but it's not compulsery
5- if you miss your turn, then you miss your turn, you wait til it comes round again.
6- New joiners go to the back of the queue , i.e behind the person who currently has it ( which will mean keeping the thread up to
date on who has is, keep it public, if you have it you post)
7- Just keep us all informed, maybe a role call either on the thread or by me PMing, maybe with 2 chances to reply then your name is
in red and after round of the parcel your off the list till you get in touch then No6 comes into force.
8- Please, no out of date seeds.

    Getting onto the list:

Please add a posting that you would like to join the list and you will be added. If the first parcel is already in circulation, point 6 above applies.

    Adding seeds:

Seeds you have bought will have a use by date and description on them, if you have self-collected your own seed please date when you collected them and add as full a name/description as you can.

    First parcel:

Initially we have no parcel and must get one together to start off with, I can without even looking at my seeds put at least 10 different types together but I would ask for a few willing people to initially send some seeds to me to go in the first parcel. Please only offer to do this if you dont mind this extra bit of postage to help get us started (it wont cost a great deal to send me a few packets). Please let me know and I will pm you my address.

Just like Peter, I have more than enough on the go at the moment but I no doubt have a few packs that will bulk up the first parcel you are putting together. As well as a few unopened, I have a few new but half used packs that I can happily send along too as they'll only go to waste if they stay here. I can put these into envelopes and label them, including date first opened, so people will know what they are and how fresh they are?

I received the seeds from Peter today, many thanks Peter!

All packaged up in little baggies with some brief germination instructions, enough to get folks going, thanks for that too, Peter.

Do you think it would be an idea to canvas for members on the "general gardening" page to see if we can generate a few more members,
