    I don't want to harp on about poisonous plants but would just like to add to Stingos' comments about the very attractive castor oil plant, that the seeds are very poisonous too. Castor oil for cattle food etc is heat treated to destroy the poison. The plants, as Stingos' have, will produce seed in UK and the seeds are very attractive to children.

    Point taken about the plant seeds being poisonous, I hasten to add that this plant is growing in the Physic Garden, Chelsea, not in my garden!
    It is there to be studied and for people to learn about it's good and bad qualities.

    There are a great many highly poisonous plants in our gardens and if we avoided them all, we would have very little left to grow. Some are so toxic that you can even get ill from burning their leaves when green! I'm just surprised that the Health & Safety Police haven't banned them yet. It'll come...

    you're not really a retired photographer, are you??? Your photos are always just amazing.... (Not a criticism, mind! Just envy!!)
