What a handsome fellow! He'll soon find his confidence and make himself at home.

How did the first night go, @Michael Hewett? Did either of you get much sleep?

He has got character @Michael Hewett. He just needs time to learn that the new place is much better than what he had before. With luck, he will start to like you and will be sleeping with you in your bed :snooze:

As I always say, "we are born to make someone's life better".:)

          Thanks for asking
He hid under a kitchen unit until 10 o'clock, and when I thought I'd go to bed he came out, He went exploring his new home, prowling around all the furniture and nosing into every corner. He kept coming back and forth to me, for smoothing and rubbing his head, and he ate loads of food (they don't get much at the rescue centre)

It was 11.50 by the time I decided to put the lights out and go to bed, and I thought if I did that he'd settle down.

I haven't seen him this morning yet, he's hiding somewhere, but not under the kitchen unit. I blocked the gap where he got in, because it's dusty there and after he came out last night his face had cobwebs on it and he started coughing a little bit.

Ha ha, yes, here’s our latest rescue a day after she arrived here. Making a comment on my housekeeping skills.

That's how Dewi was @Tidemark :heehee:

I eventually found him - I noticed a throw on an armchair was looking a bit lumpy, and found him under it. He's still there !

I think Dewi has chosen his ‘spot’!
It’s perfect as: high, warm, comfy, ability to ‘hide’. He is a clever boy.

One of ours has a favourite spot under a blanket on an armchair. Just be careful about where you sit!

I've been playing with him on the floor this evening, until he got fed up and wanted food

He's sleeping on top of the throw tonight, I think he's feeling more at home

Reminds me on our cat. She loved eating spiderwebs. When outside, she literally went to all corners she could find to eat all the spiderwebs. It was like having prawns for her or spiderwebs have nutrients no-one else needs.

@Michael Hewett I assume it wasn't very warm at the rescue centre. Our cat loved to sleep on hot-water bottles over winter. Keeps the belly warm.

My friend who volunteered there a few years ago said they have heaters that they put with the animals when it's very cold, but that was then. I don't know if they still do it. They also have very little food.
