Hopefully she will be outdoor in time as the back garden as no roads just gardens .we have cat flap but will keep her in at nights and any time she wants to be indoors.

Dewi still hasn't been out but I was hoping to open the back door today when it rains, I don't want him wandering too much on his first time outside since living here. We'll see what happens later ...

He's had a peep outside. I opened the kitchen door and went into the greenhouse, it's only about 2 yards from the kitchen door. There was some light rain, and Dewi came to the door, stood for a while, ventured outside the door for a few seconds, and then ran back into the house.
I tried calling him from the greenhouse hoping he'd follow me in there but he ran back into the house.

The blanket belonged to Bella but she would never use it.

It looks like it is on what we call a Monk's bench which we have linen in.. Ours in the Foyer which Munchkin likes to snooze on.

Dewi went out this morning, just for a few minutes, snooped around the patio and then went back inside. I was in the greenhouse and trying to call him in there, but he wasn't interested, I think he was a bit overwhelmed by the look on his eyes.
I gave him some food after he went back in, and he's lying on the windowsill now :cat-kittyandsmiley:
We'll try again another day ...

It's good he knows where home is and where it's safe, tends to suggest he won't travel far and will come back home.
Just needs to build some confidence.

One winter a friend of ours got a rescue cat (the owner was going to jail) that had only lived in a flat and was a very young adult, and it got on very well with their adult cat. In the Spring the adult went out into their garden as the patio doors had been left open a bit. The rescue cat watched through the glass then gingerly went outside. He looked up at the open sky and ran back indoors screaming in terror!

It took him a few weeks to venture out again and sat just near the door. The next day he was also just outside when he came rushing in again as he was frightened by a bird as he had never seen one before. It took a whole year before he was comfortable being outside.

I suppose the cat enjoys being outside now.

Since Dewi was found with a broken leg I assume he was outside, but he hasn't been out since August so probably lost some confidence. Also I don't know the reason he had the broken leg, it was broken in several places and some of the bones were crushed, so something traumatic must have happened to him. It may take a while for him to get used to the outside again,
but since I live in a cul-de-sac there isn't much traffic, and the little road that passes the bottom of the garden is mainly used by locals and delivery vans, so I hope he'll get used to it in time.
He looks through the window and chatters to the birds
