When I bought a new one the power cable socket was over the left hand side, the old one was on the right.
Due to where the socket is it meant the cable now comes in from an angle, had to buy a new power cable the other day as it has worn through due to the angle of it over time.

You buy a laptop and end up with yards of thick uncontrollable cable, bloody great transformer box in the cable length.
And a battery that last an hour at most.

Technology needs to improve greatly, its like something from the 70s.

My new work laptop is a whopper, the power unit on its own weighs 1 kg. And for some reason the kettle lead connector keeps working loose on it, so you think you're all plugged in and after working for an hour it starts warning you that the battery's about to run out.

They keep up grading, (down grading in respect of hard drive space), the computer part of the act but never do much regarding how the thing is powered, its archaic, I can buy a power tool with two batteries, one on charge and one being used, it would then become truly portable.

Site is still virtually unusable. Slow page turns and having to click 'Post Reply' several times to post anything. Same problem when clicking on subject title. Sometimes it does respond immediately, thereby raising hopes, only to revert on the next click.
I don't have a problem on any other website, and Firefox is the only browser I use.

Not too bad here but I have noticed over the last 3 weeks or so that the "click post reply" often doesn't work. Have to log out and then back in to post.

Slow here too. But the problem suddenly clears up. It's on and off!

@Philippa I don't log out when that happens. I just wait for all the buttons to show in blue and then click again. I may have to do that 2 or 3 times before it's finally accepted.
I must make it clear, I'm not blaming those running this group for the problems. It's happened before and was a problem with the service provider at some level. Unfortunate that this year it's happening when techies are on holiday like the rest of us.

For reasons I won't go into I find myself on here very early today and all I can say is the pages are turning over pretty rapidly at this time.
