There's a chutney I make I've called 'fire chutney'. It's fire-roasted onion, pepper and chillies with some of the other usual additions and has quite the kick and hence the name. Obvious really.
A few people have said it's too hot and others have said it's not hot enough so I figured I'd address the latter and add in different chillies to shut them up or kill them. I chose some scotch bonnets which I realised I had never actually tried before. Being in chef mode I have to try my ingredients...
A few beers later my tongue regained some sensation.

That looks great Zig....I took up 3 pepper plants to the shop to keep over the winter, peter pepper, petite marsaille and esplette pepper. Plus a couple tomato plants to do the same with.

Looks like you'll be getting some great peppers off that plant all winter!

Only tends to flower on the side facing the sun in the winter, but it'll be enough for me :)

Isn't it odd how many people forget to wash their hands after handling chillies and go for a pee...

So today I've finished off the chutney. A good chutney is like a woman - it needs love and attention and takes a day to get ready...

I can remember scotch bonnet very well :yikes:
I cooked a Jamaican curry a few years ago and added 2 whole ones with seeds as well:phew:
Let's put it this way I've gone easier on the scotch bonnets since
