Well this will mess the laws of physics up if confirmed.

Particles Found Faster Than Light - WSJ.com

Nutrinos pass thru the earth all the time, if you could see them, you wouldn't be able to see your hand in front of your face for them.

    What a coincidence! :rolleyespink:

It was only yesterday that I was talking on here about string theory and other dimensions and the other week about the Lorenz-Fitzgerald contraction theory as well as Einstein and Heisenberg. (Have I lost you all, yet? :loll:)

This all fits in well with the confusion this matter is causing in the scientific community.

I think some of them are hoping that there is an error in their data collection. :heehee:

Brian Cox was trying not to sound too exited about it on the news.

well, if proven to be true, Albert Einstein was incorrect, but at least the Hadron Collider will give scientists new things to think about, and the costs of commisioning the Hadron collider will be justified

many were against the Hadron, due to the costs and some were concerned with the safety aspect

Nutrinos emitted on mass from supernova do not to break the speed of light. The science has already been done and is one of the many reasons that even Cern think this result is crazy.

Albert didn't "play dice" with spacial relativity. :WINK1:

There's been a few pieces of evidence of 'faster than light' incidents over the years, found by very reputable scientists. Nothing conclusive though.

This is no word of a lie, the day they had the big switch on, my mate Smith put a printed document on his desk at home, immediately lost it, and found it an hour later on the draining board in his kitchen.

                  Einstein's famous E=MC2 wouldn't be wrong.

That's not the totality of Einstein's theory. All that equation says is that energy and matter are one and the same thing, and than when you convert matter to energy (for example in nuclear fission), the amount of energy you'll get (in joules) is mass (in Newtons) multiplied by a very big number (300,000,000 times 300,000,000).

C is still a constant (so far), representing the speed of light in metres per second. If something can go faster than 'C' (the speed of light), it doesn't mean the value of C changes.

The bartender says, "we don't allow faster than light neutrinos in here"

A neutrino walks into a bar.
