    Hi
Both my Cyanosis and adjacent Palm have died from split limbs - the cyanosis is split along every limb including the main trunk. The palm has split from the ground up.
Does anyone know what may have caused this?

hi PETE, I suffer from asthma badly. andCYANOSIS IS ALL connected with this in severe cases. here it goes CYANOSIS OCCURS WHEN there is lack of oxygen and the face and lips may turn bluish. or the skin may become very pale and clammy. this is all to do with asthama. hope this answers your question. Welcome D2 (is CPO3 with you?) Are you talking about a Cycad perhaps?

Sorry to hear about your asthma problem, Fancy. My friend here is very bad with it.

I had one of them in Bucks, BM, the California Lilac, nice shrub! [IMG]

Looks like a horrible condition, MMD, are they your hands?

Lovely Ceanothus .. it's the dark blue, I had the pale but would have preferred the dark!

Anyway, D2, we still don't know what your plant is to figure out it's problem ...

thanks guys n gals, didn't know how it was spelt so did spell check in word program - should've checked the thesaurus too, Doh!
It used to produce the most stunning blue flowers but is now just a split trunk. I'll try to take some phots this week and post on here, but would still (believe it or not) welcome some more feedback re what may have caused it.

the ground is not exceptionally dry, as it's in a shaded area. the adjacent bayleaf, holly bush and agapantha remain in a good state of health.
