Never really been a veg grower but I will be trying a few this year in containers in an area I have cleared behind my shed. I grew White Lisbon spring onions last year using Scrungees excellent top-tip of planting in old supermarket 6" deep plastic trays lined with an old compost bag - perfect for onions :dbgrtmb: I tried to grow a red variety of spring onion which did nothing:dunno: Can anyone suggest a reliable red variety for this year ? Also I was going to stick with the white Lisbon , unless there is a better variety ?

    TIA

I tried a red variety last year too, the ones the slugs didn't eat have just been sucked to death by greenfly:cry3:

My White Lisbon are still going strong though.
