Clearing away a patch of rubbish, I scared a little frog, which hopped away squeaking loudly, just like a child's toy! I didn't know frogs could squeak, gave me quite a fright! Has anyone else had squeaky frogs in their gardens?

Just a little off topic, we had baby toads in our garden once and our male cat used to gently pick them up and put them on my kitchen floor as though he was giving me a present!!! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

I am surprised you cat didn't foam at the mouth as even young Toads are toxic!

Newts squeak as well when disturbed or picked up.

What about frogs @Strongy as friends of ours in the village have two rescue feral cats and they eat the frogs when they leave my friends pond after spawning and then promptly throw the remains up all over the house:yikes:

Well, I've no squeaky frogs but while moving pots today and de-weeding them I found two frogs in a 4' x 2' x 1' plastic plant holder which had about 6 inches of water in it. They weren't too happy about me taking the pots out of the container but couldn't make the leap out as the walls were too high. I ended up using the pond leaf net and hoisted them out in the net and, walking down to the pond, let them loose there.............and not even a croak of thanks!!:dunno::heehee:
