Stop pests eating my brassicas

    Hi
    This year catipillers ate my brocolli bare , didn't touch sprouts as much , I want to so brassicias next year such as kale and sprouts, I don't want to net the plot as there is a cat that wanders in would wreak it , is there any easy alternativea to stop the dreaded catipiller such as conpanion planting etc ? First year growing then this year live middle of knowwhere where knowbody grows veg and they still found my plot lol

    Netting is the only answer, our cats never bother about it.

    Consider the use of scaffold debris mesh, its cat and builder proof. This year its snails that are my number one problem , little tiny ones.

    I'd be more concerned with snagging birds rather than cats when using netting.
