    hi all
just want to vent my feelings about something. this week a boy(21 now , 20 at time) was completely let off of a fatal stabbing in Totton, nr Southampton.

i know something about this cos my son was there. he told me what happened just after the event. my ex also told me some of what happened in court last week.

a lad a 15 was killed. the 'accused' to use a polite word, went to where the victim was, with a knife ready for a fight.
why did the girlfriend stay there if she was in trouble? no-one forced her. she had been drinking, but i haven't seen too much about that in the press. she phoned her boyfriend specifically to come. he did - with a knife.
the accused was warned there would be trouble if he stayed around, he did, saying that 'he would kill him'.

right, now to prove i'm not totally blinded, cos i didn't know the poor lad that died or his friends - i know that, unfortunately, fights happen especially with girlfriends involved. i don't like it, full stop.

i can also feel a little sympathy with the accused. maybe he didn't mean it to happen.

the thing was, the lad he picked on was 'tough' & he(the stabber) said that was the only way he could stop it.
but why go there in the first place? why wait around when the other lad wasn't there?
when will 'kids' start to realise how serious it is.

the 'accused' is quite well off apparently (went to private school etc)so his family moved away straight after the event. they had their GP testifying & everything, top barrister.
he had a few knives at home cos the family was 'interested' in that sort of thing.
he actually lived at his girlfriends mothers house!

the deceased was someone expelled from school & the like. maybe some people think we're better off without him. i'm just sorry another young life has been lost.

slightly off topic - see this week that pete doherty has been let off again. i would almost bet everything i have that, had he been a 'man' from a council estate, perhaps with a single parent, on benefits, he would have been locked up long ago.
when should money come into it. sad fact is, it does.

i'm also sad that my son had to see this - he's a toughie but shouldn't have to see this. he says he's not bothered, could be just teenage talk, but isn't that more worrying than if he was.

i sincerely hope there isn't/hasn't been any trouble following the verdict in Totton. i will keep my eyes on the news via the net.

well that's me finished on this. sorry if i've ranted everyone, just feel ???????. i don't know!
