    Hello all

    I hope you are well.

I need some help, I am struggling to Grow Sage Icterina (Golden Sage).

I have now had 3 x Sage Icterina Plants and all of them have failed, also known as Died.

The Plants are in a South Facing Border, in Sandy Loam, so, relatively Free Draining and the Plants get Watered once a Week utilising Drip Irrigation.

I do not understand why this one Plant, out of everything, will not Thrive.

I have a Purple Sage in the same Border and that is Growing well.

I have Ordered, yet another, Sage Icterina, this Time in a 1L Pot, the previous Plants were in 9cm Pots so hopefully the extra size will help.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

I don't find it to be a typical sage, Kevin. The best specimen I ever had was growing in quite heavy clay and got a fair bit of water. It was also in shade for most of the day! It doesn't do well here with heat and drought as standard conditions. The only thing I can suggest is up the watering and do cuttings regularly so you've got replacements.

      Hello all

      And, Two Years Later :)

Well, over the Last couple of Years, the Sage Iceterina and Purple Sage have Died in Late November(ish) at which point I have replaced them the following Spring only to Grow well and face the same Fate later in the Year.

Well, this Spring, the Sage Icterina and the Purple Sage were basically Dead, all that was present were bare Branches and shrivelled Grey Leaves.

As I have been having a difficult Time recently I did not get around to Replacing them with New Specimens and.....

They both have New Growth, so, Not Dead after all :wallbanging:

I always thought that they were both Evergreen, so, obviously when they lost all their Leaves and looked Dead I assumed, apparently incorrectly, that they were indeed Dead, obviously not :noidea:

Well, this is how they are looking now:

Now, they just need to Grow and Fill the Space.

      Thanks

      Kevin
