    Afternoon all
I’ve got this raspberry plant in my allotment, but don’t know if it’s a summer or autumn one.
I understand that I need to prune it differently, depending on which one it is.
    Any ideas? Thank you.

I grow 'Joan Jet' raspberries and I prune my canes to give me a crop in both Summer and Autumn.
So for Summer fruits grow on the previous years growth. Usually a case of cutting back old woody growth (to the ground) after harvesting, leaving the green shoots from that season
For my Autumn crop, which fruit on the same year's growth, I prune them to ground level (around February time). Therefore I can get a decent crop through to late November.
I know my variety is suitable for both seasons and can only really comment on that one and not other varieties.

Well as its in an allotment and plenty of space (?) worth giving it a go as @Sogni verdi suggests.

However it looks quiet a large plant so may be quiet old and it may not be giving such good crops as newer plants would. Also you are not going to get that much fruit from just one plant.

The garden centers or online are now offering bare root canes, typically in bunches of 4-6 plants, including "long Canes" which will give some fruit this year, so might be worth starting off a row or two of new plants and getting both summer and autumn types.

We grow Tulameen for Summer fruit and Autumn Bliss.
