That's a nice shrub @Victoria, I hadn't heard of it until you mentioned it in your posts, and I've never seen a closeup of the flowers, they're lovely
I've had two attempts of growing this from seed and both died on me in early autumn from what appeared to be strong growing plants. Not sure why as they were in the greenhouse by the time they died. Same batch of seed though, so I do wonder if it was correctly named. Nice to see a close up of the flowers @Victoria
Thank you \Michael. It is a favourite of mine and it blooms for months, June through October, basicallly all Summer.
I did and the second one died as well. I'm not convinced the seed I had was actually Tecoma, is yours T. capensis? I was trying T. stans which is supposed to be hardier, but it just dropped its leaves and died on both occasions as soon as Autumn came.
Mine is T stans as far as I know, However, I did a check on my phone app and it says the flowers are T stans and the leaves are T stans too. The T Capensis mentioned below is what I know and have called Tecomaria (Cape Honeysuckle ... which may suit your climate better. It flowers Aytumn/Winter here. What Are the Different Types of Tecoma Plant | Live to Plant
T. stans should be OK here if given winter protection. I cant help thinking the plant in that link described as T. radicans is probably Campsis radicans.
What level of protection @pete ? I used to see a huge campsis radicans flowering regularly on a pergola in Nottinghamshire
For Tecoma I was really thinking of pot growing it to see if it would flower in a pot, moved under cover in the garage overwinter, but as I don't have one or two can't experiment. Works with Bougainvillea and podranea, Erythrina etc.
