    Is it really news that yet another top footballer has been a naughty boy? Surely it would be more of a story if the news sleuths tracked down a player who just liked to spend his free time down at the allotment growing champion spuds.

      Well, certainly I might be more willing to give a d*mn, then. Particularly if there were full colour centrefold photos of the spuds in all the Sunday mags. That'd have us all agog.
