Does anybody know where the best drivers in the country live?

Heard this on the radio this moring and had a chuckle.

    The answer is NORFOLK!

and before anybody says they have seen some really bad drivers around here
    - well you might have done but I am sure they were visitors. ;)

Ditto, Windy! We find that not only do they drive in the middle of the road, but at 10 miles an hour to boot looking every direction but forward, sometimes even reading a map spread across the steering wheel!

Just as bad are the pedestrians who for some unknown reason have to wander three to four abreast in the middle of the road!

:D :D .... and cyclists. Not the proper ones who do it all the time; but the ones who come with bikes stuck the back door of their mobile homes, and only ride 'em once a year. Saunter along gawping at the view, completely oblivious to the massive tailback they're creating......

Such is life in a tourist area .... glad we live in the country and only have to visit such places (bank, doctor, dentist) infrequently! [IMG]

When I have travelled through Norfolk ... it surprises me how more accidents don't happen. I am not sure whether I am cautious, but a lot of motorists were overtaking me on bends  and I don't drive the slowest car in the world.

    ........... And I wouldn't class Alan Partridge as a good driver :D

The worst drivers are those people on mobility scooters !! And thats a fact!! round here they can rent them out to go round the town so you are walking along shopping when all of a sudden you have one of those scooters heading towards you ..and will they stop or go round you NO..and they also take them in the supermarkets so you either get trolley rage or a scooter prepared to run you over..!!

Wildflower, I know what you mean about those scooters having been the victim of scooter hit and run a couple of times in Asda :D :D

Windy. If it wasn't for us Tourist's bringing all our dosh down to Cornwall and buying your pasties and Fat Willy's surf shack hats, then you lot would still be working down the Tin Mines...well thats if they hadn't all closed... No offence meant.

Macleaf I am not falling for that one.I had enough of all the opposite sex bashing last week

    No offence taken Kandy.
We love the tourists for without them Cornwall would solely be inhabited by fat women and kids as we have no industry. But trying to get to work in August is an absolute nightmare!!!

I can imagine it Windy. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the British Isles. We were down there last year staying at St Mawes, but I broke my toe on the second day and O/H had an infection so we ended up having to do more driving, which we try not to do too much of while we are away.

We had always wanted to go up St Michael's Mount, but we didn't realise just what a climb it would be,and with a broken toe it was no joke.

We had gone away in July and seemed to pick the hottest day to do it.When we got back to the car later on the temperature was still showing 28 degrees at 7.00pm.

It must be murder for all of you who live there all year round,we only see it when we are down there.I don't know the answer, apart from us all arriving on buses or trains and not doing any site seeing, then I think the problems will always be there.

By the way, could you let me have your registration number for your saxo, then we will know to keep well away from you next time we visit
