Like it, Ziggy. I used to listen to the Shipping Forecast and all the names would conjure up lots of images in my mind, just something about the names.:snork:

Essential when you're going out to sea but I always do my own forecast as well because there are other factors, such as Wind against Tide.

Dd you hear the confession where a chap working at the town hall had an american on works experience thrust on him?

He didn't get on with the bloke & even had to drive him home in the evenings. when the shipping forecast came on, he turned it up & responded to the various parts of it with an enthusiastic "Yes!!!" or "Oh no"

After a couple of days the Yank had to ask, "What is this?"

He told him it was the Cricket Scores:snork:

Not only that, he got the rest of the town hall, including the Mayor, to play along.

All good fun, till he found out the guy had progressed up the ranks to become advisor to President Obama.

So if Obama comes over here & wishes Cromarty, Portland & Dogger well in their next match, we'll know who's been advising him:snork:

I used to play Cricket. Remember one time, ball hit me straight between the eyes, never had a chance to move.

I used to listen to the night time shipping forecast when I was younger and having trouble sleeping, as it was guaranteed to get me off to sleep. I still love the tune Sailing By to this day :oopss:
