    they look like plums...but they are in fact

      They look like plums because it's difficult to work out the size. The purple colour is the 'bloom' on them and rubs off, leaving a brightly coloure mango. They are usually the cheapest mangoes sold in this country because, although the flavour is OK, the flesh is 'stringy' and difficult to cut.
