Yep, it's 1200 miles wide! And looks like it'll be a Cat 5 cyclone.

My friends just downstream of Toowoomba where already flooded out...now this? I hope they will be ok. Their parents moved from that area a few years ago to just north of Brisbane on the coast, so missed the recent floods, now I guess they will be directly in the path of the approaching storm.

 This going to be so dreadful... I really hope it does not do as much damage as Tracy or Larry, but sadly looks like it is going to be much worse.. So many people evacuated so swiftly but of course there are still some there, whether by choice or not making it out I am not sure but have them & their country in my prayers now as it must be making landfall there now...!!!

My friends are mainly in NS Wales thankfully Steve, but you must be very worried for your friends........

    Thanks for that Marley, :thumb:

Last year we were in Townsville, Cairns and Hamilton Island (which I understand has been evacuated). We can keep up with what's going on through this link as we can't get in touch with our friends.

:rolleyespink: My gosh although there is total devastation it is not as bad as I thought we were going to see... Strange how it hits one building & not the one next door, but that is nature's way I am sure to allow some survival.... readful to see all the banana plantations flattened... Their sugar fields have suffered the same devastation too........

 I can see the prices of fresh fruit & veg & other commodities rising as so many countries have suffered either winds. floods or fires this year.....!!!!!! :rolleyespink:
